This content is stipulated in Circular 86/2016/TT-BQP issued by the Ministry of National Defense on June 20, 2016.
The funeral attire in ceremonies organized by the Military is defined by Circular 86 as follows:
- For fallen soldiers and military personnel:
- The attire during encoffining for officers and professional soldiers is Winter ceremonial uniform, without a hat; non-commissioned officers and soldiers wear ceremonial uniform according to the Military Management Regulations; for defense workers, public employees, and retired military personnel, the attire is based on the wishes of the deceased's family members.
- For the Funeral Committee and Funeral Organization Committee:
- For National funerals and State-level funerals: Officers and professional soldiers participating as members of the Funeral Committee and Funeral Organization Committee wear Winter ceremonial uniform, with a hat;- For other types of funerals: Officers and professional soldiers participating as members of the Funeral Organization Committee wear seasonal ceremonial uniform, with a hat;- Representatives from agencies and units outside the Military participating as members of the Funeral Committee and Funeral Organization Committee should dress formally and respectfully.
- For condolence delegations:
- When attending National funerals and State-level funerals: Officers and professional soldiers wear Winter ceremonial uniform, with a hat; non-commissioned officers and soldiers wear ceremonial uniform, with a hat;- When attending high-level funerals: Officers and professional soldiers wear seasonal ceremonial uniform, with a hat;- For other types of funerals: Officers and professional soldiers; non-commissioned officers and soldiers wear their seasonal standard uniform, with a hat.
