The 2017 Law on Guard stipulates that officers and guard soldiers are entitled to policies and provisions as prescribed by law and are eligible for special allowances, subsidies, and support according to the regulations of the Government of Vietnam.

Officers and soldiers of the guard force receive special allowances ranging from 15% to 30% calculated on their rank salaries or current rank allowances in addition to other allowance policies (if any). Specifically:
- Officers and soldiers performing tasks: Close protection; protection of international guests visiting and working in Vietnam; patrolling, guarding residences, workplaces, critical areas, and especially important events;- Officers holding leadership and command positions;- Officers and soldiers without leadership positions with ranks from Second Lieutenant or with salaries equivalent to the rank of Second Lieutenant or below; soldiers receiving rank allowances.
- Officers and soldiers performing tasks: Close protection driving, operational driving, leading the way, escorting; inspecting explosives, flammable substances, radioactive materials or other dangerous items, toxicological testing; combat; reconnaissance; information service for protection work; special forces; mobile forces;- Officers and soldiers without leadership positions with ranks of First Lieutenant, Captain or with salaries equivalent to the rank of First Lieutenant, Captain.
- Officers and soldiers directly serving the leaders of the Communist Party, the State, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front;- Officers and soldiers without leadership positions with ranks from Major or with salaries equivalent to the rank of Major or above.
- Officers and soldiers of the guard force receive housing allowances, social housing support policies and are provided with official housing;- For non-commissioned officers and conscripted soldiers upon completing their service term in the guard force, they receive vocational training allowances or job creation allowances and are given priority in admission to schools under the People's Public Security, People's Army and other policies in accordance with the Law on People's Public Security, the Law on Professional Soldiers, Defense Workers and Public Employees, and other relevant legal documents.
Officers and soldiers of the guard force, and officers and soldiers participating or coordinating in guard work who die, are sacrificed, injured, or become ill receive policies according to the Law on People's Public Security, the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army, the Law on Professional Soldiers, Defense Workers and Public Employees, and other current legal provisions.
When changing positions or changing the rank salary, rank allowance, the corresponding allowance level applies from that month; when ceasing guard duties, the allowance ceases from the month following the month of the decision.
