Regime and Policies for Commune Police

The Ordinance on Communal Police 2008 was promulgated on November 21, 2008. One notable content of this Ordinance is the regulation on the policies concerning the Communal Police.

To be specific, according to Article 19 of the 2008 Ordinance on Commune Police, the policies regarding Commune Police are stipulated as follows:

  1. The Chief of Commune Police, Deputy Chief of Commune Police, and Commune Police Officers shall participate in social insurance and health insurance according to the provisions of the law.

  2. The Chief of Commune Police with a continuous service period of 60 months or more is entitled to a seniority allowance; if having a continuous service period of 15 years or more and retiring due to a legitimate reason but not yet eligible for retirement pension, the Chief is entitled to a one-time allowance.

  3. The Deputy Chief of Commune Police and Commune Police Officers with a continuous service period of 15 years or more and retiring due to a legitimate reason are entitled to a one-time allowance.

  4. The Deputy Chief of Commune Police and Commune Police Officers, when appointed to attend training, political, legal, and operational education, are entitled to training allowances equivalent to the basic meal allowance of non-permanent Police soldiers; when on duty trips, they are entitled to travel allowances.

  5. The Chief of Commune Police, Deputy Chief of Commune Police, and Commune Police Officers when performing standby duties ready for combat in key areas, complex in terms of security and order, are entitled to policies as stipulated.

  6. The Chief of Commune Police, Deputy Chief of Commune Police, and Commune Police Officers, in the line of duty, if injured or sacrificed, are entitled to policies according to the law on preferential treatment for those with meritorious services to the revolution; the Deputy Chief of Commune Police and Commune Police Officers during their service period, if ill, shall receive medical examinations and treatment at medical facilities and be considered for financial support for medical expenses from local budget sources.
