Publication of the Textbook List at Least 4 Months Before the Start of the New School Year

To be specific, according to the provisions in Article 9 of Circular 01/2020/TT-BGDDT, the head of a general education institution must publicly announce the list of textbooks used in the institution and post it at the institution at least 04 (four) months before the beginning of the new school year.

In addition, this Circular stipulates the structure of the Textbook Selection Council of the general education institution as follows:

- The Chairperson of the Textbook Selection Council is the head of the general education institution. In cases where the head of the general education institution is not permitted to participate in the Council under Clause 3, Article 4 of this Circular and circumstances of force majeure, the Chairperson of the Council shall be a deputy of the head of the general education institution.

- The Vice Chairperson of the Council is a deputy of the head of the general education institution or the head of the specialized group.

- The Secretary of the Council is the head of the specialized group.

- The Council members are the heads of the specialized groups, representatives of the teachers teaching the subjects, and representatives of the Parents' Association of the general education institution.

The Council proposes to the head of the general education institution the list of textbooks selected by the Council for use in the general education institution. Based on the Council's proposal, the head of the general education institution decides the list of textbooks to be used in the institution.
