The following are regulations on commendation and handling of violations related to the protection and fight against corruption, wastefulness, and negative behaviors in Vietnam.

According to Article 9 and Article 10 of Regulation 231-QD/TW in 2025, regulations on commendation and handling of violations in the protection of the fight against corruption, waste, and negativity are as follows:
* Commendation
- Party committees, party organizations, agencies, organizations, and individuals who effectively perform the task of protecting whistleblowers against corruption, waste, and negativity are praised and commended according to the regulations of the Communist Party and the laws of the State.
- Individuals who truthfully fight against corruption, waste, and negativity are praised and commended according to the regulations of the Communist Party and the laws of the State. If multiple individuals fight together in a case, commendation is based on the level and role. If the commended individual has died, is missing, or lost civil capacity, the material award is given to their heir or guardian according to the law. Public commendation requires the consent of the whistleblower against corruption, waste, and negativity, or their heir, or guardian.
- Funds used for praise, commendation, and protective measures are ensured from the state budget according to the law.
* Handling of violations
- Party committees, party organizations, and leaders are reviewed and disciplined according to the regulations of the Communist Party and the laws of the State if they allow party organizations, officials, or party members within their agency or organization to violate the regulations on protecting whistleblowers against corruption, waste, and negativity.
- Individuals who violate these regulations are subject to handling based on the nature and degree of the violation according to the regulations of the Communist Party and the laws of the State.
- Those who exploit the fight against corruption, waste, and negativity to distort the truth, slander, or fabricate accusations causing internal disruption are, depending on the nature, level, and consequences, subject to discipline, administrative penalties, or held criminally responsible.
Prohibited acts in the protection of the fight against corruption, waste, and negativity according to Article 8 of Regulation 231-QD/TW in 2025 are as follows:
- Using violence, exerting pressure, slandering, isolating, insulting, or infringing upon the legitimate rights and benefits of whistleblowers against corruption, waste, and negativity and their relatives.
- Illegally infringing homes, residences, seizing, destroying property, insulting dignity, or engaging in actions that affect the health and personal safety of whistleblowers against corruption, waste, and negativity and their relatives.
- Retaliating or hiring, persuading others to intimidate, retaliate against whistleblowers against corruption, waste, and negativity and their relatives.
- Performing unconformably, discriminating, setting criteria, conditions, reviews, evaluations in an imposing manner causing disadvantages in personnel, commendation, and discipline for whistleblowers against corruption, waste, and negativity and their relatives; reshuffling, transferring, secondment of whistleblowers against corruption, waste, and negativity when resolving cases.
- Causing difficulties, obstructing the implementation of policies of the Communist Party and State, resolving administrative procedures, public services according to the law, production, business, professional activities, employment, study, or task performance of whistleblowers against corruption, waste, and negativity and their relatives.
- Blocking, destroying information, documents, evidence of the fight against corruption, waste, and negativity; concealing, not reporting, delaying or improperly handling, verifying proposed requests for protection; disclosing confidential information during the protection process; not promptly directing, removing organizational or individual difficulties and obstacles in performing protection tasks; not changing members performing protection tasks when there is evidence that the member is irresponsible, or not objective in task performance.
- Exploiting the fight against corruption, waste, and negativity to slander agencies, organizations, or other individuals.
- Other prohibited acts according to regulations of the Communist Party and the laws of the State.
