Promulgation of the List of prohibited jobs for minor employees in Vietnam

This is a prominent content stipulated in Circular 10/2013/TT-BLDTBXH of the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam, which prescribes the List of prohibited jobs for minor employees.

According to the provisions of Circular 10/2013/TT-BLDTBXH, in addition to the workplaces stipulated in Clause 4, Article 163, and Points a, b, c, d, dd, e of Clause 1, Article 165 of the Labor Code 2012, it is prohibited to employ minors in the jobs specified in Clause 1, Article 163, and Point g, Clause 2, Article 165 as follows:

No. Job Title Characteristics of Working Conditions
1 Directly melting, pouring, and transporting liquid metal, dismantling casting molds, and cleaning cast products in the furnaces:


- Arc electric furnace (regardless of capacity).


- Steel making furnace.


- Steel converter.


- Blast furnace.


- Billet rotary melting furnace.
Heavy work, directly impacted by high temperatures, noise levels, and vibrations exceeding permissible standards.
2 Hot metal rolling. Heavy work, directly impacted by high temperatures, noise levels, and vibrations exceeding permissible standards.
3 Directly smelting non-ferrous metal ores (copper, lead, tin, mercury, zinc, silver). Frequently impacted by noise, dust, and toxic gases exceeding permissible standards.
4 Coking and unloading coke ovens. Affected by heat, dust, noise, CO, CO2 exceeding permissible standards.
5 Firing steam locomotive furnaces. Affected by heat, dust, noise, and toxic gases exceeding permissible standards.
6 Operating boilers. Very dangerous work, frequently exposed to high temperatures.
7 Operating systems for producing and filling acetylene, oxygen, hydrogen, chlorine, and liquefied gases. Very dangerous work, exposed to toxic gases exceeding permissible standards.
8 Operating refrigeration systems (ice making, freezing). Heavy work, constrained working posture, working in a cold environment.
9 Operating machines for metal processing using forging, stamping, pressing, and cutting machines powered by steam, compressed air, or electricity. Heavy work, very hot, affected by thermal radiation, CO, CO2, SO2 concentrations, and noise exceeding permissible standards.
