Promulgation of the Coordination Mechanism for Receiving and Handling Maritime Security Information

In 2016, Decree 170/2016/ND-CP was signed and promulgated by the Government of Vietnam to regulate the publication, reception, processing, and transmission of maritime security information. This document replaces Decision 11/2009/QD-TTg.

To be specific, the coordination in receiving, processing, and disseminating maritime security information is guided by Decree 170/2016/ND-CP as follows:

- The receiving, processing, and disseminating of maritime security information between the Center, the Command of the Coast Guard, the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies with port facility operators and shipowners must be ensured to be seamless 24 hours a day, promptly, and accurately. Contact addresses are implemented according to the maritime security contact information directory announced by the Vietnam Maritime Administration.- During the implementation of receiving, processing, and disseminating maritime security information, if relating to the functions and duties of another agency, both parties are responsible for proactively exchanging, unifying, and coordinating the implementation.- The Command of the Coast Guard and the Ministry of Public Security shall notify the Center and relevant agencies of the maritime security information processing results.
