Prohibition Signs, Warning Signs, and Fire Prevention and Fighting Instructions

To contribute to state management and enhance the responsibility of citizens in fire and explosion prevention, limit risks, and protect human life, health, and state assets, organizations, agencies, and individuals involved in these activities must comply with certain regulations. Decree 79/2014/ND-CP provides detailed guidelines on a number of regulations regarding prohibition signs, warning signs, and instructions on fire prevention and firefighting.

According to Decree 79, establishments with fire and explosion hazards must have regulations on prohibition signs, warning signs, diagrams, or instructional signs regarding fire prevention and firefighting, and emergency exits suitable for the characteristics and nature of the establishment's activities. Prohibition signs, warning signs, and instructional signs about fire prevention and firefighting are stipulated in Circular 66/2014/TT-BCA as follows:

- No fire signs, no smoking signs, no obstructing passageways signs, and no using water as a fire-extinguishing agent signs. For places that produce, manage, store, or use explosive materials, liquefied petroleum gas, gasoline, oil, and places with high fire and explosion risks, there may be additional signs prohibiting the carrying and use of matches, lighters, mobile phones, radio transceivers, and other devices, items, or substances that can generate heat, sparks, or flames, and there must be sub-signs specifying the prohibited items;

- Instructional signs about fire prevention and firefighting, including: direction signs to emergency exits, emergency exit doors, locations of telephones, fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, fire water sources, and motorized and other fire-fighting equipment.

The specifications, designs of prohibition signs, warning signs, and instructional signs about fire prevention and firefighting are to be implemented according to the regulations of Vietnamese Standards TCVN 4879: Fire Prevention - Safety signs for designs and sizes.
