Prohibiting the Coercion of Elderly People to Work in Any Form

Law on the Elderly 2009 was promulgated on November 23, 2009. This Law stipulates the rights and obligations of the elderly; the responsibilities of families, the State, and society in nurturing, caring for, and promoting the role of the elderly;... there are certain prohibited acts stipulated in this document.

To be specific, according to the provisions of Article 9 of the Law on the Elderly 2009, the following acts are prohibited:

First, insulting, mistreating, offending, torturing, discriminating against the elderly.

Second, infringing upon or obstructing the elderly from exercising their rights regarding marriage, property ownership, and other lawful rights.

Third, failing to fulfill the obligation of providing for the elderly.

Fourth, exploiting the care and support of the elderly for personal gain.

Fifth, forcing the elderly to work or to do things contrary to legal regulations.

Sixth, forcing, inciting, instigating, or assisting others to carry out illegal acts against the elderly.

Seventh, retaliating against or threatening those who assist the elderly or those who detect and report acts of violating the law against the elderly.
