Procedure for Inspection of Plant-Based Food Products for Export

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development recently issued Circular 44/2018/TT-BNNPTNT on state inspection of food safety for plant-based food products intended for export.

According to Circular 44, the inspection of exported plant-based food is conducted according to the following procedures:

- Organizations and individuals shall submit 01 set of documents to the Inspection Agency.- The submission of the documents and receipt of results may be carried out directly, through postal services, or online at the Public Service Portal.- Within 01 working day from the date of receipt of the documents, the Inspection Agency shall review and, if the documents are valid as per regulations, accept them for processing; if the documents are not valid, the agency shall notify the organizations or individuals of the specific contents that need to be supplemented and completed according to regulations.- Within 02 working days from the date of receipt of the valid documents, the Inspection Agency must inspect the documents of the shipment and issue a Notice of Inspection Results for exported plant-based food.
