The Land Law 2024 stipulates principles for the use of land for intensive farming in Vietnam as follows:

land for intensive farming is one of the seven types of agricultural land stipulated in Clause 2, Article 9 of the Land Law 2024. Users of land for intensive farming must adhere to the general principles at Article 5 of the Land Law 2024 which include:
- Proper use of land purpose.
- Sustainable, economical, and efficient utilization of land and surface, subsurface resources.
- Protect the land, protect the environment, adapt to climate change, and not abuse pesticides or chemical fertilizers causing pollution and soil degradation.
- Fulfill the rights and obligations of land users within the land use period as prescribed by the Land Law 2024 and other relevant laws; do not infringe on the lawful rights and interests of adjacent and surrounding land users.
Article 183 of the Land Law 2024 provides regulations on land for intensive farming as follows:
- land for intensive farming is land designated for the construction of livestock farms in separate areas as prescribed by livestock law.
- The use of land for intensive farming must comply with the following regulations:
+ Implement environmental protection measures, waste management, and other measures so as not to affect land users in the area and surroundings;
+ In cases where land for intensive farming is used with constructions attached to the land, it must comply with the regulations of investment law and construction law.
- Economic organizations, individuals granted land or leased land by the State, those receiving land use rights transfer, leasing land use rights, contributing capital with land use rights to implement concentrated livestock investment projects.
- Overseas Vietnamese, economic organizations with foreign investment capital are leased land by the State, contributing capital with land use rights of economic organizations as per legal regulations to implement concentrated livestock projects.
Clause 2, Article 9 of the Land Law 2024 stipulates the types of agricultural land as follows:
- Land for annual crops, including rice cultivation land and other annual crop land;
- Land for perennial crops;
- Forestry land, including special-use forest land, protective forest land, and production forest land;
- Aquaculture land;
- land for intensive farming;
- Salt-making land;
- Other agricultural land.
Article 11 of the Land Law 2024 lists the prohibited acts in the field of land as follows:
- Encroach, occupy, destroy land.
- Violate the provisions of state management of land law.
- Violate land policies for ethnic minorities.
- Abuse positions and powers to act contrary to the provisions of land management law.
- Fail to provide information or provide inaccurate land information, not meeting the required timelines as prescribed by law.
- Fail to prevent or address acts violating land laws.
- Fail to comply with legal prescriptions when exercising land use rights.
- Use land, conduct land use rights transactions without registering with the competent authority.
- Fail to perform or insufficiently perform financial obligations to the State.
- Obstruct or cause difficulties for the use of land, exercise the rights of land users according to the law.
- Discriminate based on gender in the management and use of land.
