Recently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam has issued Circular 18/2010/TT-BVHTTDL regulating the organization and operation of museums, including regulations on the principles for displaying documents, exhibits, and introducing intangible cultural heritage.

Article 9 Circular 18/2010/TT-BVHTTDL stipulates:
- Activities of displaying documents, exhibits, and introducing intangible cultural heritage of museums in Vietnam include:
- Long-term and short-term displays at museums;
- Mobile displays and exhibitions both domestically and internationally;
- Organizing the introduction of intangible cultural heritage.
- Displaying documents, exhibits, and introducing intangible cultural heritage of museums in Vietnam must ensure:
- Conformity with the scope, audience, and content of museum activities;
- Emphasis on displaying original documents and exhibits;
- The introduction of intangible cultural heritage must be associated with the documents, exhibits, and display content of the museum, contributing to the protection and promotion of the value of intangible cultural heritage;
- Display explanations must provide complete, clear, and accurate information about the documents and exhibits and be appropriate for the audience;
- Replicas and copies of documents and exhibits must be accurate, scientific, and clearly noted;
- Facilitation for visitors and maintenance of security and safety for documents, exhibits, and visitors;- Compliance with legal regulations on political protection, social order, and safety.
