June 23, 2017, the Ministry of National Defense promulgated Circular 152/2017/TT-BQP stipulating the functions, tasks, authority, and working relationships of the Command for the Protection of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.
According to Circular 152, the Command for the Protection of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum has the following positions and functions:
1. Position
- The Command for the Protection of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is a unit directly under the Ministry of National Defense; a specialized unit coordinating with the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, an agency under the Government of Vietnam.
2. Functions
- Directing and performing the task of long-term preservation and absolute safety protection of President Ho Chi Minh's remains; ensuring security and order, and organizing the reception of people and international guests visiting President Ho Chi Minh, commemorating heroic martyrs, and touring the Ho Chi Minh Monument Complex at Da Chong, Ba Vi, Hanoi;- Acting as a specialized coordinating agency to assist the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in directing the implementation of special political tasks and organizing political and cultural activities to propagate and promote the political and cultural significance of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Project;- Building, managing, and commanding the subordinate agencies and units.
