Persons injured in traffic accidents without Health Insurance cards must still receive emergency medical care

This is the content stipulated in Circular 49/2016/TT-BYT regulating the organization and operation of emergency response to traffic accidents on highways. Circular 49/2016/TT-BYT is the first Circular to provide detailed regulations on this issue.

The cost of emergency operations for traffic accidents on highways is stipulated in Circular 49/2016/TT-BYT as follows:

- For traffic accident victims with health insurance cards, the costs for patient transportation, first aid, and emergency treatment are carried out according to Circular 40/2015/TT-BYT.- For traffic accident victims without health insurance cards, medical facilities are still required to provide first aid, emergency treatment, and care for traffic accident victims. After administering first aid and emergency treatment, the facility will charge the transportation fees, first aid fees, and emergency treatment fees according to the medical examination and treatment service prices approved by the competent state authority for state medical facilities, or the listed prices for private hospitals.
