On June 29, 2020, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Circular 19/2020/TT-BGDDT stipulating policies for periodic reporting under state management authority.

Article 7 of Circular 19/2020/TT-BGDDT prescribes the frequency and deadlines for submitting periodic reports to the Ministry of Education and Training as follows:
- Quarterly periodic reports: Conducted 04 times/year, the deadline for submitting reports is no later than the 20th of the last month of each quarter.
- Semi-annual periodic reports: Conducted 02 times/year, the deadline for submitting reports is no later than June 20 (for the first half of the year) and December 20 (for the second half of the year).
- Annual periodic reports: Conducted once a year, the deadline for submitting reports is no later than December 20 every year.
- Semester and academic year reports: Conducted once a year, the deadline for submitting reports is no later than January 31 (for the first semester summary report) and June 30 (for the academic year summary report), except for special cases or force majeure circumstances that affect the academic year's timeline.
- For types of periodic reports not in accordance with the reporting periods specified in clauses 1, 2, 3, and 4 of this Article, the leading unit responsible for constructing periodic report policies must specify the submission deadline based on the reporting target, report content, and the report data cut-off time. However, the duration must be no less than 03 working days from the data cut-off time to the report submission deadline or an estimated time from receiving the report to compiling, completing, and sending it.
- For reports submitted via the Ministry of Education and Training's information reporting system:- The deadline for agencies and organizations to submit reports is 03 working days after the report data cut-off date;- The time for each level to summarize the report is 03 working days.
- For complex reports involving many reporting subjects and requiring compilation through various agencies, units, and levels, the leading units responsible for constructing periodic report policies must clearly specify the submission deadlines for each subject and each reporting level.
- The leading units responsible for constructing periodic report policies should integrate the report contents and share report information to ensure that each content area within the same management field is required to report only once per reporting period.
