On November 10, 2016, the Minister of Finance of Vietnam issued Circular No. 220/2016/TT-BTC on the rate, collection, submission, administration and use of the charges and fees for the practice of law.
According to Circular No. 220/2016/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam, the following entities are responsible for paying fees and charges in the field of practice of law:
- An individual applying for certification and recertification of the practice of law.
- Foreign organizations that practice law applying for the issuance and reissuance of the practicing certificate for their branches, wholly foreign-owned companies or joint venture companies practicing law, law practicing partnerships of foreign law practicing organizations and Vietnamese partnerships.
- The foreign law practicing organizations in Vietnam applying for revision to the practice.
- The branches of a foreign law firm in Vietnam applying for issuance, reissuance or amendment of their practice.
- Foreign lawyers, when applying for certification or recertification of their practice in Vietnam.
- Foreign lawyers applying for extension of their practice in Vietnam.
- Foreign organizations practicing law in Vietnam and branches of foreign law firms in Vietnam applying for issuance, reissuance or amendment of their operations.
