On April 5, 2024, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Decision 06/2024/QD-TTg amending Decision 27/2022/QD-TTg regarding the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the National Academy of Public Administration under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The organizational structure of the National Academy of Public Administration under the Ministry of Home Affairs is stipulated as follows as of April 15, 2024:

- Department of Administrative Studies.
- Department of State and Law.
- Department of Social Management.
- Department of Economic Management.
- Department of Human Resource Management.
- Department of Archives and Office Management.
- Interdisciplinary Science Department.
- Department of Foreign Languages and Informatics.
- Institute of Administrative Sciences Research.
- State Management Journal.
- Examination and Training Quality Assurance Center.
- Technology and Library Center.
- Branch of the National Academy of Public Administration in Ho Chi Minh City.
- Branch of the National Academy of Public Administration in Quang Nam province.
- Branch of the National Academy of Public Administration in Dak Lak province.

Regarding the training of officials and public employees, the National Academy of Public Administration has the following tasks and powers:
- Assist the Minister of Home Affairs in organizing the implementation of training programs and content for administrative and state management officials and public employees nationwide as prescribed by law.
- Provide training on state management knowledge and skills according to the standards for civil servants and professional titles as prescribed by law.
- Provide training on the knowledge and skills required for leadership and management positions, as well as professional positions as prescribed by law.
- Enhance professional competence, expertise, and pedagogical methods for state management lecturers in the systems of training, education, and research.
- Provide training on administrative, management, and state governance knowledge, skills, and expertise for leaders, managers, officials, and public employees in the political system and state-owned enterprises.
- Participate in research, investigation, survey, and evaluation of the needs and quality of training for officials and public employees; research and propose directions for innovation and improvement of training quality to meet the requirements of state management and the public administration system.
- Organize training on the management of training and fostering for officials and public employees involved in training and education management in ministries, central agencies, agencies under the Government, political and social organizations at the central and provincial levels, and other tasks as directed by the Minister of Home Affairs.

The National Academy of Public Administration is a public service provider under the Ministry of Home Affairs. It is also a special-grade public service provider and a national center for training and enhancing capacity, knowledge, and skills in administration, leadership, and management for officials and public employees; human resource training; administrative science research; and providing advice to the Ministry of Home Affairs in the field of administration and state management. The National Academy of Public Administration has a legal status, seal, and separate account at the State Treasury, with its headquarters located in Hanoi. Its international trading name in English is the National Academy of Public Administration, abbreviated as NAPA. (Article 1 of Decision 27/2022/QD-TTg) |
Decision 06/2024/QD-TTg takes effect on April 15, 2024.
