Organizational Structure of the Department of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy in State-Owned Hospitals

According to current legal regulations, the Department of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy is a specialized technical organization in traditional medicine and pharmacy, affiliated with the hospital and directly under the direction of the hospital Director.

The organizational structure of the department must meet the standards prescribed by the Ministry of Health in Circular 01/2014/TT-BYT. To be specific:

Hospital Bed Scale

- Hospitals with a scale of 120 inpatient beds or more must establish a Department of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy with at least 10 inpatient beds;- Hospitals with a scale of fewer than 120 inpatient beds must establish a Department of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy or a department with a section of traditional medicine and pharmacy, with at least 5 inpatient beds;- The hospital Director shall arrange the number of inpatient beds in the Department to ensure the work of medical examination and treatment in traditional medicine and pharmacy and achieve the targets for medical examination and treatment in Decision 2166/QD-TTg.

Organizational Structure

- Outpatient examination and treatment section:

- Examination area;- Outpatient treatment area with beds;

- Inpatient treatment section:

- Inpatient treatment area;- Treatment area using traditional medicine and rehabilitation;

- Traditional pharmacy section:

- Storage for medicinal materials, Eastern medicine drugs, herbal medicines, traditional medicinal ingredients, and dispensing;- Processing and preparation area;- Medicine decocting area;- Dispensing counter.
