Officials Are Prohibited from Doing These 7 Things During Tet Nguyen Dan 2019

Tet Nguyen Dan 2019 is approaching, to avoid negative incidents commonly occurring during Tet, officials are advised to be mindful of the following prohibited actions:

1. Strictly Prohibit Using Budget for Inappropriate Gifts to Superiors

Decision 64/2007/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister strictly prohibits the use of state funds, state-owned assets, or assets originating from the state budget to give inappropriate gifts in any form.

2. Strictly Prohibit Accepting Illegal Gifts

Also according to Decision 64/2007/QD-TTg, officials and public employees are prohibited from accepting gifts from agencies, organizations, or individuals related to their public duties; gifts from agencies, organizations, or individuals without a clear purpose, or gifts given with corrupt intentions.

Officials and public employees are only permitted to accept gifts in accordance with the law and must sign a confirmation; they must declare the income if required by law.

3. Strictly Prohibit Using Budget to Visit and Wish Leaders During Tet

In Directive 34/CT-TTg 2018 on measures to ensure a joyful and healthy Tet Nguyen Dan 2019, the Prime Minister requires state agencies and officials to strictly not use budget funds to visit, wish, or give gifts to leaders at any level.

4. Strictly Prohibit Using Public Vehicles for Festival Activities

Also according to Directive 34/CT-TTg, it is strictly prohibited to use public vehicles and assets for personal activities during Tet and festivals.

5. Strictly Prohibit Consuming Alcohol During Working Hours

According to Directive 26/CT-TTg 2016 of the Prime Minister on strengthening discipline within state agencies, it is strictly prohibited to consume alcohol, beer, or alcoholic beverages during working hours, lunchtime on working days, and on Tet duty days.

6. Strictly Prohibit Gambling in Casinos in Any Form

According to Directive 26/CT-TTg 2016, to uphold the ethics and communication culture of officials and public employees, it is strictly prohibited for officials to gamble and enter casinos for gambling in any form.

7. Strictly Prohibit Celebratory Gatherings After Tet Holiday Ends

The practice of officials extending holidays and organizing celebrations and feasts after the Tet holiday has become common. The Prime Minister strictly prohibits this practice in Directive 26/CT-TTg 2016, instructing that immediately following the Tet holiday, agencies, organizations, and units must promptly focus on work, ensuring no delays that could affect business and production activities.
