Officials are not allowed to wear flip-flops while performing duties

This is one of the noteworthy contents in Decision 1847/QD-TTg approving the Civil Service Culture Scheme issued by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam on December 27, 2018.

To be specific, according to Point d Clause 4 Article 1 of Decision 1847/QD-TTg regulating the attire of officials and public employees of state administrative agencies, including ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government of Vietnam; People's Committees at provincial, district, and commune levels, when performing their duties:

- Officials and public employees must dress neatly, appropriately, and wear shoes or sandals with back straps;- Attire must be suitable for the nature of the work, the specific attire of the sector, and comply with national customs and traditions;- For sectors with specific attire regulations, the attire must follow the sector's regulations.

Thus, according to this regulation, officials and public employees are absolutely prohibited from wearing slippers or any type of sandals that are not back-strapped during their work, and the attire must also be neat, appropriate, and suitable for the nature of the work.

This scheme is designed with the goal of enhancing public service culture, contributing to shaping the standard working style and behavior of the team of officials and public employees; ensuring professionalism, responsibility, dynamism, transparency, and efficiency in the performance of duties and official tasks; and meeting the service requirements of the People and society.
