In recent years, our country has joined many international organizations related to commercial activities. Therefore, adjusting domestic commercial laws to be suitable for the new era is essential. The Government of Vietnam has issued Decree 81/2018/ND-CP detailing the Law on Commerce regarding commercial promotion activities.
merchants organizing and participating in trade fairs and exhibitions have the following obligations:
1. Obligations of merchants organizing trade fairs and exhibitions:
- Register the organization of trade fairs and exhibitions with the state management agency;- Responsible for resolving complaints and feedback from consumers or organizations and individuals regarding the trade fairs and exhibitions; and regarding the goods displayed at the trade fairs and exhibitions;- Provide merchants participating with full and accurate information related to the participation in trade fairs and exhibitions, activities within the framework of the trade fairs and exhibitions aside from displaying goods;- Other obligations as prescribed in Article 139 and Article 140 of the Commercial Law.
2. Obligations of merchants, organizations, and individuals participating in trade fairs and exhibitions:
- Be fully responsible for the goods and services displayed at the trade fairs and exhibitions;- Provide full and accurate information about the goods displayed to the trade fair and exhibition organizers and be responsible for the provided information;- Other obligations as prescribed in Article 138 and Article 139 of the Commercial Law.
Decree 81/2018/ND-CP comes into effect on July 15, 2018, replacing Decree 37/2006/ND-CP.
