Recently, the Ministry of Public Security issued Circular 28/2020/TT-BCA regulating the order, procedures for receiving, classifying, processing, and resolving crime reports and petitions for prosecution by the people's public security force in Vietnam.

According to Article 17 of Circular 28/2020/TT-BCA, it is regulated that within 03 working days from the date of receiving denunciations, crime reports, and prosecution recommendations, the Investigative Agency, and agencies assigned to perform certain investigative activities of the People's Public Security must provide a written notification of the receipt results to the same level Procuracy or the competent People's Procuracy, the agency, organization, and individual who made the denunciation, reported the crime, or recommended prosecution in Vietnam (except for cases where the person making the denunciation or report refuses to provide personal information).
Additionally, within 03 days from the date of concluding the resolution of denunciations, crime reports, and prosecution recommendations (except cases where a Decision to temporarily suspend the resolution of crime information is issued), the Investigative Agency, and the agencies assigned to perform certain investigative activities of the People's Public Security are responsible for providing a written notification of the resolution results to the individual, agency, or organization who made the denunciation, reported the crime, or recommended prosecution in Vietnam (except for cases where the person making the denunciation or report refuses to provide personal information).
Furthermore, within 24 hours from the issuance of the Decision to temporarily suspend the resolution of crime information, the Investigative Agency, and the agencies assigned to perform certain investigative activities of the People's Public Security are responsible for sending that Decision to suspend to the individual, agency, or organization who made the denunciation, reported the crime, or recommended prosecution in Vietnam (except for cases where the person making the denunciation or report refuses to provide personal information).
