No verification result received: How to handle civil registration requests? (illustrative image)
According to the provisions of Article 4 of Circular 04/2020/TT-BTP, in cases where civil registration requires verification as stipulated in Clause 4, Article 22; Clause 2, Article 26; Clause 2, Article 27 of Decree 123/2015/ND-CP; and Clause 4, Article 9; Clause 1, Article 12 of this Circular, if no reply is received within 20 days from the date the verification request is sent, the civil registration agency shall continue processing the application as stipulated.
Specifically for cases of verification regarding marital status, the applicant for a Certificate of Marital Status is permitted to submit a written declaration about their marital status in accordance with Article 5 of Circular 04.
Additionally, this Circular stipulates that if the applicant for civil registration is required to provide a written declaration regarding the content of the registration request, the civil registration agency must clearly explain to the declarant the responsibilities and legal consequences of false declarations.
The civil registration agency may refuse to process or may request the competent authority to annul the registration result if there is evidence to determine that the declaration content is untruthful.
