New Regulations on the Organizational System of the Vietnam Coast Guard

Article 7 of the Decree 61/2019/ND-CP stipulates that the Organizational System of the Vietnam Coast Guard includes:

- Vietnam Coast Guard Command.- Units under the Vietnam Coast Guard Command:

- Coast Guard Region Command 1; Coast Guard Region Command 2; Coast Guard Region Command 3; Coast Guard Region Command 4;- Special Task Force for Drug Crime Prevention No. 1; Special Task Force for Drug Crime Prevention No. 2; Special Task Force for Drug Crime Prevention No. 3; Special Task Force for Drug Crime Prevention No. 4;- Reconnaissance Unit No. 1; Reconnaissance Unit No. 2;- Training and Professional Development Center for the Coast Guard.

- Agencies, units at main points, and grassroots levels under the units of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command.

Among these, the agency of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command consists of the General Staff Department, Political Department, Operations and Legal Department, Logistics Department, Technical Department, and agencies under the Vietnam Coast Guard Commander.

Additionally, Decree 61 also stipulates the operational scope and management area of the Coast Guard Region Commands in Vietnam, specifically as follows:

- Coast Guard Region Command 1 manages the sea area from the mouth of Bac Luan River in Quang Ninh province to Con Co Island in Quang Tri province;- Coast Guard Region Command 2 manages the sea area from Con Co Island in Quang Tri province to Cu Lao Xanh in Binh Dinh province;- Coast Guard Region Command 3 manages the sea area from Cu Lao Xanh in Binh Dinh province to the northern tip of Dinh An estuary in Tra Vinh province;- Coast Guard Region Command 4 manages the sea area from the northern tip of Dinh An estuary in Tra Vinh province to Ha Tien in Kien Giang province.

As for the operational scope and management area of the units prescribed at points b, c, d, clause 2, and clause 3, Article 7 of this Decree will be regulated by the Vietnam Coast Guard Commander.
