Commerce is one of the activities that occur very commonly and frequently in every country. Therefore, regulating these activities is essential to ensure sustainable economic development. Recently, the Government of Vietnam has passed Decree 81/2018/ND-CP detailing the Commercial Law on trade promotion activities.

Before conducting promotional activities, merchants must complete the administrative procedures for registering promotional activities and obtain confirmation from the competent state regulatory authority. Merchants may choose one of the following registration methods:

- Submit 01 registration dossier via postal service to the competent state regulatory authority;- Submit 01 registration dossier directly at the headquarters of the competent state regulatory authority;- Use the online public service system provided by the competent state regulatory authority.

The registration dossier for conducting promotional activities includes:

- 01 Registration for conducting promotional activities;- 01 Rules of the promotional program;- A sample of the proof of winning or a detailed description of the proof of winning;- 01 Uncertified copy of documents regarding the quality of promotional goods.

Decree 81/2018/ND-CP took effect on July 15, 2018.
