New Regulations on Motor Vehicle Quality Inspection Service Fees

The service charge for testing the technical quality and environmental protection for motorbikes; motorcycles and similar types of vehicles is 7,000 VND/sample. For types of cars; trailers and semi-trailers manufactured, assembled from complete knocked down (CKD) parts and imported; four-wheeled vehicles with engines for transporting goods; four-wheeled vehicles with engines for passenger transport; specialized motorcycles and similar types of vehicles is 12,000 VND.

For motor vehicles and specialized motorcycles that require the design appraisal, the appraisal fee is calculated at 8% of the design cost published and declared by the design entity, but not less than 2,000,000 VND/1 design. The service fee includes value-added tax but does not include the fee for issuing the Certificate of Design Appraisal for motor vehicles, specialized motorcycles; Certificate of Technical Quality and Environmental Protection issued for components, equipment, motor vehicles, specialized motorcycles, four-wheeled vehicles with engines, bicycles with auxiliary engines following the regulations of the Ministry of Finance, and the costs for accommodation, travel, communication to serve the inspection work in places more than 100 km away from the headquarters of the Register Agency.

Accommodation, travel, communication costs to serve the inspection work in places more than 100 km away from the headquarters of the Register Agency (if any) are implemented according to the current regulations of the Ministry of Finance regarding business trip policies for state agencies and public service providers.

The Register Agency has the obligation to disclose information and publicly post service prices, pay taxes on the collected amount, and has the right to manage and use the remaining amount after tax payment according to the legal provisions.
