New regulations on handling risks caused by natural disasters for replacement planted forests

Circular 23/2017/TT-BNNPTNT has been issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, replacing Circular 26/2015/TT-BNNPTNT, which stipulates regulations on reforestation when converting forest land to other purposes.

According to the provisions of Circular 23, the handling of risks due to natural disasters for replacement planted forests is carried out as follows:

- For the area of production forests damaged by natural disasters, support is provided according to the provisions of Decree 02/2017/ND-CP.- For the area of protection forests and special-use forests damaged by natural disasters, liquidation is carried out according to the provisions of Circular 18/2013/TT-BTC.- The statistics, assessment, and reporting on the damage caused by natural disasters are carried out according to Joint Circular 43/2015/TTLT-BNNPTNT-BKHDT.- The process of financial support is applied according to the provisions of Decision 01/2016/QD-TTg.

Note:

- For the alternative forest planting plan being implemented according to the provisions of Circular 24/2013/TT-BNNPTNT and Circular 26/2015/TT-BNNPTNT, it will continue to be implemented according to the approved plan.
