New regulations on environmental technical regulation group in Vietnam

According to Article 105 of the Draft Law on Environmental Protection (amended), new regulations about the group of environmental technical regulations are introduced in Vietnam as follows:

- For areas that can no longer maintain the objective of environmental quality protection, areas that can no longer receive waste, areas with polluted environment, only new investment projects that do not generate wastewater, exhaust gas or new investment projects that generate wastewater, exhaust gas but the treated wastewater, exhaust gas must be lower than or equal to the technical standards on environmental quality can be accepted.

- In case there are no environmental technical regulations related to technology, equipment generating waste, parameters on environmental quality, or pollutants present in waste, the environmental protection standards of one of the G7 developed countries or South Korea must be applied.

Thus, this Draft has introduced several policies on technical standards to ensure the objective of protecting, improving the living environment quality, and ensuring that Vietnamese people receive an environmental quality on par with that of advanced countries in the world.
