Necessary Information Before Making a Flight Plan

According to the provisions of Circular 19/2017/TT-BGTVT, in order to have the necessary meteorological data for each flight, the flight procedures office at the airport notifies the MET facility at the airport with detailed information about the flight plan:

- For scheduled flights: Notify about the defined seasonal schedule; if there are any changes to the plan, notification must be given at least 12 hours before the intended departure time;- For non-scheduled flights: Notify about the flight plan immediately upon receipt.

Detailed information about the flight plan includes:

- Departure airport and estimated departure time;- Arrival airport and estimated arrival time;- Flight route, estimated times of arrival and departure from transit airports;- Alternative airports;- Long-range cruising altitude;- For supersonic flights: alternative long-range cruising altitudes below supersonic speed, areas for speed increase and decrease passing through the sound barrier, altitude increase and decrease areas;- Type of flight rules: VFR or IFR;- Details of the requested meteorological information provided;- Required time for receiving meteorological dossier, briefing, and consultation.

Circular 19/2017/TT-BGTVT is effective from August 1, 2017.
