ND Group Plant Cover Data Layer on Topographic Map 1:2,000, 1:5,000

The detailed provisions are stipulated in Circular 19/2019/TT-BTNMT which stipulates the technical regulations on content and symbols of national topographic maps at scales 1:2,000, 1:5,000.

In Article 4 of Circular 19/2019/TT-BTNMT, the vegetation cover data class group on the national topographic map at scales of 1:2,000 and 1:5,000 is stipulatively detailed as follows:

- The vegetation cover data class group represents forests classified by canopy density, annual crops, perennial crops, mixed vegetation, vegetation in residential areas, and on the surface of constructions.- Vegetation areas with a map area of 20 mm² or more must be represented. For vegetation areas with a map area of 4 cm² or more, the name of the plants must be noted.- For vegetation areas with various interwoven types of vegetation, the type of vegetation occupying the majority must be represented, but it must occupy at least 30% of the area. If no vegetation type meets this criterion, it must be represented according to the regulations for mixed vegetation.- Boundaries of vegetation areas must be delineated closed by vegetation boundary symbols. Priority is given to linear geographical objects in case the vegetation boundary coincides with other linear objects such as administrative boundaries of different levels, roads, riverbanks, canals, and other geographical features.- The names of all forested areas must be represented: national parks, nature reserves, species - habitat conservation areas, landscape protection areas, scientific research - experimental forests, national botanical gardens, and other forests with specific names.- All independent trees and tree clusters with a height of 10 meters or more must be represented.
