Monthly, sentenced person must self-report on their compliance with obligations in Vietnam

This is the notable content in Circular 65/2019/TT-BCA stipulating the implementation of criminal sentences in the community in Vietnam, issued by the Ministry of Public Security on November 28, 2019.

According to Circular 65/2019/TT-BCA, the implementation of comments and reports by sentenced person in Vietnam are regulated as follows:

- For those serving suspended sentences, those serving non-custodial reform sentences, those serving probation sentences, and those conditionally released early from prison: Monthly, within the first 05 days of the month, they must submit a self-assessment report on their compliance with obligations to the assigned police officers managing, supervising, and educating to confirm and comment, report to the Commune People's Committee, and keep records for managing, supervising, and educating them.

- For those serving banishment, sentenced person of deprivation of certain civil rights, sentenced person of banning from holding certain positions, engaging in certain occupations or jobs, those granted postponement of imprisonment, and those granted temporary suspension of imprisonment: They are not required to perform periodic comments and reports in Vietnam.

- In necessary cases, to serve the work of managing, supervising, and educating sentenced person, the commune-level police can request the sentenced person to report on their compliance with the law, compliance with obligations, and other contents related to sentence execution in Vietnam.
