This is not only the responsibility of government agencies but also requires the joint effort of each individual and the entire community in Vietnam.

Mobilizing social resources in drug rehabilitation organization in Vietnam (Illustrative Image)

Article 43 of the Draft Law on Drug Prevention and Control stipulates that the funding to establish rehabilitation facilities in Vietnam comes from the following sources:

Funds for the construction of physical facilities, organization of drug addiction treatment, community reintegration, harm reduction interventions, relapse prevention including:

- State budget;

- Contributions from drug addicts, their relatives, and families;

- Results of therapeutic labor by addicts at rehabilitation facilities;

- Sponsorships from domestic organizations, individuals, foreign organizations, and individuals.

Additionally, drug addicts and their families also have the responsibility to contribute to the rehabilitation costs as stipulated by the Government of Vietnam. However, if the circumstances and conditions of the drug addict and their family are difficult, the contribution can be considered for reduction or exemption.

For contributions, rehabilitation facilities in Vietnam must:

Drug rehabilitation facilities can receive contributions and sponsorships from individuals, families, domestic agencies, organizations, foreign organizations, and individuals to assist in drug addiction treatment and must manage and use these contributions and sponsorships according to legal regulations.
