Minimum competency requirements for mechanical equipment fabrication at college level in Vietnam

On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate and college levels in the fields of mechanical engineering technology.

Minimum competency requirements for mechanical equipment fabrication at college level in Vietnam

According to the stipulation of the minimum volume of knowledge, competency requirements that students must achieve upon graduation from the intermediate level, college level in the field of mechanical equipment fabrication, issued together with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum skills that students must achieve upon graduation in the field of mechanical equipment fabrication at the college level are as follows:

- Read construction drawings and related documents;

- Select the appropriate types of materials and equipment required for manufacturing;

- Proficiently use and maintain the tools and handheld equipment of the profession;

- Follow the established technological process for mechanical equipment fabrication;

- Accurately implement dimensions and shapes on steel plates and profiles;

- Efficiently manage daily tasks in the processing and manufacturing of equipment;

- Straighten, cut, bend, drill, rivet, and assemble products meeting high technical requirements in forms like: pipes, frames, tanks, bins, bunkers - silos, dust filtration equipment for industrial and civil projects;

- Supervise, inspect, and evaluate work results in mechanical equipment fabrication according to technological procedures and technical standards;

- Record work logs and progress reports;

- Communicate effectively through writing, presenting, discussing, negotiating, and managing situations;

- Organize and implement measures for industrial sanitation and occupational safety, and maintain a scientific workplace;

- Utilize basic information technology as regulated; exploit, process, and apply information technology in professional work;

- Use basic foreign language skills, achieving level 2/6 in the Vietnamese Foreign Language Proficiency Framework; apply foreign language skills in professional work.
