Method of Calculating Conversion of Working Time in the Army

Translation:

The method for conversion of military service time is stipulated in Circular 162 as follows:

- In cases where during the same period of service, if there are 2 or 3 conditions for converting the service time, only the highest conversion rate will be applied; the convertible service time, if intermittent, shall be accumulated for the purpose of calculating the allowance;- Service time in areas previously not specified, now specified with a special allowance rate of 100% or a regional allowance with a coefficient of 0.7 or higher, will be converted into service time to calculate one-time allowance benefits;

Service time in areas previously specified with a special allowance rate of 100% or a regional allowance with a coefficient of 0.7 or higher, which are later regulated with a special allowance rate below 100% or a regional allowance below a coefficient of 0.7, will be considered as converted service time for the purpose of allowance calculation until the effective date of the new regulation;

- Service time in occupations or jobs previously not classified, but later classified as category IV or higher, will be calculated as category IV or higher from the commencement of such occupation or job to convert and calculate the allowance. To be specific:- Service time in an occupation or job that was previously classified lower and later reclassified higher, will be calculated according to the higher classification from the commencement of the occupation or job to convert and calculate the allowance.- Service time in an occupation or job that was previously classified higher and later reclassified lower will be calculated according to the higher classification from the commencement of the occupation or job until the day immediately preceding the effective date of the new decision, after which the new lower classification specified in the new decision will apply for the conversion of service time for allowance calculation.
