On October 24, 2024, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam issued Resolution 1245/NQ-UBTVQH15 regarding the rearrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Lam Dong province for the 2023 – 2025 period.

Merger of 3 districts in Lam Dong into 1 district from December 01, 2024​

Merging the entire natural area of 426.71 km2, with a population size of 44,783 people from Cat Tien district and the entire natural area of 526.73 km2, with a population size of 57,194 people from Da Teh district into Da Huoai district.

After the merger, Da Huoai district will have a natural area of 1,448.48 km2 and a population size of 146,064 people.

Da Huoai district borders Bao Lam district, Bao Loc city; and the provinces of Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong, and Dong Nai.

Thus, from December 1, 2024, Lam Dong province will have 10 district-level administrative units, consisting of 08 districts and 02 cities; and 137 commune-level administrative units, comprising 106 communes, 18 wards, and 13 commune-level towns.

Arranging commune-level administrative units in Da Huoai district

In addition, Resolution 1245/NQ-UBTVQH15 also arranges commune-level administrative units in Da Huoai district as follows:

- Merging the entire natural area of 32.15 km2, with a population size of 3,106 people from Trieu Hai commune into Quang Tri commune. After the merger, Quang Tri commune will have a natural area of 86.51 km2 and a population size of 6,380 people.

Quang Tri commune borders the communes of Da Kho, Da Pal, Da Oai, Ha Lam, My Duc, the commune-level town of Da Teh, and Bao Lam district;

- Establishing Ba Gia commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 38.53 km2, with a population size of 2,156 people from Doan Ket commune and the entire natural area of 92.98 km2, with a population size of 4,344 people from Da P’loa commune. After establishment, Ba Gia commune will have a natural area of 131.51 km2 and a population size of 6,500 people.

Ba Gia commune borders Ha Lam commune, the commune-level town of Da M’ri, Bao Lam district, and Binh Thuan province;

- Merging the entire natural area of 80.83 km2, with a population size of 3,540 people from Phuoc Loc commune into Ha Lam commune. After the merger, Ha Lam commune will have a natural area of 124.21 km2 and a population size of 7,743 people.

Ha Lam commune borders the communes of Ba Gia, Da Oai, Da Pal, Quang Tri, the commune-level town of Da M’ri, the commune-level town of Madaguoi, and Binh Thuan province;

- Merging the entire natural area of 45.12 km2, with a population size of 1,660 people from Da Ton commune into Da Oai commune. After the merger, Da Oai commune will have a natural area of 68.39 km2 and a population size of 5,908 people.

Da Oai commune borders the communes of Da Kho, Ha Lam, Madaguoi, Quang Tri, the commune-level town of Madaguoi, and Dong Nai province.

After the arrangement, Da Huoai district will have 23 commune-level administrative units, consisting of 18 communes: An Nhon, Ba Gia, Da Kho, Da Lay, Da Oai, Da Pal, Dong Nai Thuong, Duc Pho, Gia Vien, Ha Lam, Madaguoi, My Duc, Nam Ninh, Phuoc Cat 2, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Quoc Oai, Tien Hoang, and 05 commune-level towns: Da M’ri, Da Teh, Cat Tien, Madaguoi, Phuoc Cat.

The Government of Vietnam, the People's Council, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province, and relevant agencies and organizations are responsible for implementing this Resolution; arranging and consolidating the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilizing the livelihood of local people, ensuring the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense, and security in the area.
