May a person working at a educational institution in Vietnam manage multiple email addresses? (Illustrative image)
To be specific, in Article 5 of Circular 53/2012/TT-BGDDT, it is stipulated that educational management agencies and educational institutions may establish emails in two ways:
- Using email services provided completely free of charge, with a custom domain of the educational management agency or educational institution from a service provider (such as Google App service). The educational management agencies and educational institutions receive the highest administrative rights over their email system.
- Setting up their own dedicated email server system when they have adequate conditions regarding server equipment, transmission lines, software, and operational personnel.
Additionally, educational management agencies and educational institutions have the responsibility to provide free email addresses with custom domains for:
- Officials, teachers, and staff of the educational management agencies and educational institutions;
- Subordinate units, departments, divisions, and subject groups;
- The IT Department, Ministry of Education and Training. This mailbox has the function of forwarding sector-wide notifications when necessary.
Note: Educational management agencies and educational institutions set up email addresses according to job positions. For high schools, issuing email addresses for students is encouraged. A person can manage multiple email addresses: personal email, position-specific email, and unit-specific email.
