Maximum Fee for Inspection of Maritime Safety Management System in Vietnam is 13 Million VND

For the monitoring and inspection services of marine works not specified in the Service Price Schedules provided in Circular 234/2016/TT-BTC, the inspection fee in Vietnam shall be calculated based on workdays and shall be at least 60% of the inspection fee of Foreign Registry.

The Ministry of Finance of Vietnam has just issued Circular 234/2016/TT-BTC stipulating the price of technical safety inspection services and quality of ships, offshore structures; industrial products installed on ships, offshore structures; evaluation, certification of safety management systems and approval, inspection, evaluation, certification of maritime labor.

The assessment price for the Safety Management System of ships in Vietnam is as follows:

The service prices stipulated in this Circular include value-added tax but do not include the certification fees as prescribed by international conventions or national technical standards for ships, offshore structures according to the Ministry of Finance's stipulations, and other costs such as accommodation, travel, communication...

The accommodation, travel, communication costs for inspection work at locations more than 100 km away from the headquarters of the Registering Authority are implemented according to the current regulations of the Ministry of Finance regarding policies on working expenses for state agencies and public service providers.

For ships or offshore structures that the Vietnam Register does not classify but only conducts technical safety inspections, the inspection pricing for corresponding items is implemented as for classified ships, offshore structures.

In cases where inspection work is carried out according to the agreement content between the Vietnam Register and foreign registration, the inspection price is determined following the agreement between the Vietnam Register and foreign registration.

For supervision and inspection services of offshore structures not specified in the Service Price Schedules stipulated in this Circular, the inspection price is calculated based on the agreed contract between the Vietnam Register and the customer. The inspection price is calculated on a working day basis and at least 60% of the inspection price by foreign registration for the corresponding work.

This Circular is effective as of January 1, 2017.
