On October 8, 2024, the Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Circular 18/2024/TT-BCT stipulating the list of scrap subject to suspension of temporary importation and merchanting trade in Vietnam.

The list of scrap subject to suspension of temporary importation and merchanting trade in Vietnam which comes into force in Vietnam from January 1, 2025, is as regulated in Circular 18/2024/TT-BCT, specifically:

Note:

- This list is based on the List of Vietnamese Export and Import Goods issued together with Circular 31/2022/TT-BTC.

Principles for using this list are as follows:

+ If only the 2-digit code is listed, then all 8-digit codes under this Chapter apply.

+ If only the 4-digit code is listed, then all 8-digit codes under this 4-digit group apply.

+ If only the 6-digit code is listed, then all 8-digit codes under this 6-digit subgroup apply.

+ Codes 3919, 3920, 3921, 3923.21, and 3923.29 apply only to used goods in this list.

- The above list does not apply to cases of transit trading where goods are transported directly from the exporting country to the importing country without passing through Vietnamese ports.
