Circular 39/2018/TT-BNNPTNT has been issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, providing guidelines on the inspection of quality and food safety of imported salt under the management responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Circular 39/2018/TT-BNNPTNT regulates the organization of conformity assessment and testing of imported salt as follows:
- The organization assessing the conformity of imported salt quality is a conformity assessment organization that has registered its activities in accordance with Decree 107/2016/ND-CP.- The testing of food safety for imported salt must be conducted in a testing laboratory recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) as a VILAS testing laboratory in the field of chemistry, with the test object being sodium chloride salt and food safety criteria; or in a testing laboratory designated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).- The list of conformity assessment organizations and food safety testing laboratories is updated and posted on the electronic portals of MOST (www.boa.gov.vn) or MARD (www.mard.gov.vn).
