Below is the list of electrical equipment and tools required for inspection in Vietnam issued together with Circular 02/2025/TT-BCT.

The Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam promulgates Circular 02/2025/TT-BCT on February 1, 2025, stipulating the protection of power works and safety in the electricity sector.
According to Article 12 of Circular 02/2025/TT-BCT, the list of electrical equipment and tools required for inspection is as follows:
- Electrical equipment used in environments not prone to gas burns, explosive dust with a nominal voltage level above 01 kV, including:
+ Surge arresters.
+ Transformers.
+ Circuit breakers.
+ Electric cables.
+ Isolating switches, grounding switches.
- Electrical tools requiring inspection: Insulating rods.
The inspection cycle for electrical equipment and tools according to Article 14 of Circular 02/2025/TT-BCT is as follows:
- Initial inspection is conducted before the use and operation of the electrical equipment and tools.
- Regular inspection is performed during the use and operation of the electrical equipment and tools:
+ For electrical equipment in the operating production line that cannot be dismantled for independent inspection, it is inspected per the overhaul cycle of the equipment chain.
+ For electrical equipment on the national power system where the investor applies maintenance and repair methods based on the equipment’s condition or reliability-centered maintenance methods according to corresponding standards, the investor decides the inspection cycle and items based on analysis and equipment condition evaluation results, ensuring the cycle does not exceed 72 (seventy-two) months.
+ For electrical equipment and tools not covered under point a, point b of item 1, Article 14 Circular 02/2025/TT-BCT, regular inspections are conducted according to the manufacturer's instructions but do not exceed 36 (thirty-six) months.
- Extraordinary inspection
+ Conducted upon request by a competent state authority.
+ After the resolution of incidents, post-overhaul, repairs, or upon request from organizations or individuals using or operating the electrical equipment and tools.
The inspection procedure for electrical equipment and tools according to Article 15 of Circular 02/2025/TT-BCT is as follows:
- Inspection organizations are responsible for carrying out the inspection steps according to the issued process.
- Post-inspection handling of results
+ Electrical equipment and tools passing the inspection must bear an inspection stamp in a visible location, protected from adverse environmental impacts, and a paper or electronic inspection certificate must be issued.
+ Electrical equipment and tools not meeting the requirements post-inspection will not be issued a new inspection certificate, and the old inspection stamp (if any) will be removed, only issuing an inspection report detailing the reasons for non-compliance.
+ In case the electrical equipment and tools are in a location where it is not possible to affix stamps as described in point a of item 2, Article 15 Circular 02/2025/TT-BCT, an Inspection Certificate is issued upon completion of inspection.
- Within 10 (ten) working days from the date the inspection ends, the inspection organization is responsible for issuing an inspection report and inspection certificate to the organization or individual using or operating the inspected electrical equipment and tools. The main content of the inspection certificate follows Form II.7 Appendix II issued along with Circular 02/2025/TT-BCT.
