List of construction items at vehicle stopping and parking locations in Vietnam from January 1, 2025

The categories of works pertaining to stop and parking locations in Vietnam are regulated as follows:

- Stop and parking locations include the following items:

+ Access roads;

+ Parking area premises;

+ Information, tourist map stations, or other audiovisual equipment serving to provide information to traffic participants or promote local tourism.

- Design requirements for the above items are as follows:

+ Access roads must comply with regulations on branch roads on expressways according to the National Technical Regulations on expressways;

+ The premises of parking areas and information stations must be concrete roads with a minimum thickness of 20 cm or asphalt concrete with a minimum thickness of 7 cm;

+ Traffic roads within the premises of the parking areas must have traffic signs and road markings; with a minimum turning radius of 10 m measured from the centerline, ensuring safe vehicle circulation within the stop and parking area;

+ Appropriate drainage measures must be implemented.

In which, the investment in stop and parking locations must ensure:

- During the preparation of a feasibility study report, based on service usage needs, project characteristics, the unit preparing the project shall research and propose the investment in stop and parking locations at locations:

+ With natural landscapes, scenic spots, historical and cultural relics to develop tourism and promote local culture;

+ Having convenient access roads, unobstructed visibility, suitable for the nature, topographical, geological, and hydrological conditions of the project works, ensuring safety during exploitation.

- The agency deciding on public investment projects or the agency approving projects under the public-private partnership method shall decide on the investment in stop and parking locations based on research and proposals from the project preparation unit mentioned above.
