List of Candidates Exempted from High School Graduation Exams in 5 Subjects in 2023 in Vietnam

On May 25, 2023, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch 2487/BDGDT-QLCL on exemption from the 2023 High School Graduation Exam.

140 students are exempted from the 2023 High School Graduation Exam, including 35 students selected for the national team for the International Olympiad in Mathematics, 27 students in Physics, 25 students in Chemistry, 28 students in Biology, and 25 students in Informatics.

Exemption from Foreign Language Test in High School Graduation Recognition in Vietnam

According to Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, candidates exempted from the Foreign Language Test in High School Graduation Recognition include:

- Members of the national team for the International Olympiad in Foreign Languages as decided by the Minister of Education and Training;

- Holding one of the certificates specified in the annual guidance for organizing the High School Graduation Exam of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Candidates exempted from the Foreign Language Test are awarded 10 points for this test to be used in High School Graduation Recognition.

Candidates who do not register to use their exemption rights for the Foreign Language Test must take the exam and be recognized for high school graduation like non-exempt candidates.

Regulations on Full Exemption from All Exams of the High School Graduation Exam in Vietnam

According to Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, individuals summoned to participate in the selection exams for the national team for the International or Regional Olympiads in cultural subjects are exempt from all exams of the High School Graduation Exam if they meet the following conditions:

- Summoned in the second semester of grade 12;

- Overall grade 12 rating of good conduct and academic performance from fairly good or higher;

- Listed in the exemption list of the Ministry of Education and Training.

**Members of the team participating in the International or Regional Olympiads in Science, Technology, Arts - Culture subjects are exempt from all exams of the High School Graduation Exam if they meet the following conditions:

- Summoned in the second semester of grade 12;

- Overall grade 12 rating of good conduct and academic performance from average or higher;

- Listed in the official dispatch requesting exemption and confirming participation in training and competition by the selection agency sent to the Department of Education and Training before the High School Graduation Exam date.

**Severely disabled individuals and heavily disabled individuals as specified in Clauses 1, 2, Article 3 of Decree 28/2012/ND-CP; revolution participants affected by chemical toxins resulting in a reduction of labor capacity by 61% or more; children of revolution participants affected by chemical toxins with a reduction of labor capacity by 61% or more, must meet the following conditions:

- For disabled individuals following the general education program: Completion of the high school program; meet the conditions for taking the exam as specified in Clause 2, Article 12 of the Exam Regulations attached to Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT; have a disability certificate issued by a competent authority;

- For disabled individuals not meeting the general education program: Confirmed by the principal of the high school where they registered their study, demonstrating the results of the implementation of the annual Individual Education Plan at the high school level; have a disability certificate issued by a competent authority;

- For revolution participants or their children affected by chemical toxins: Completion of the high school program; meet the conditions for taking the exam as specified in Clause 2, Article 12 of the Exam Regulations attached to Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT; have a certificate of being affected by chemical toxins and a reduction in labor capacity by 61% or more issued by a competent authority.
