Health is one of the important criteria to determine whether a citizen is eligible for military service or not. Below is a list of 10 types of diseases affecting health that exempt individuals from registering for military service if contracted.

Exempted Diseases from Military Service

The types of diseases listed under the Category of Exempt Diseases from Military Service Registration as stipulated in Table 3, Appendix 1, issued in conjunction with Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP, include the following:

  1. Mental illness (F20- F29);
  2. Epilepsy G40;
  3. Parkinson's disease G20;
  4. Blindness in one eye H54.4;
  5. Deafness H90;
  6. Sequelae due to bone and joint tuberculosis B90.2;
  7. Sequelae due to leprosy B92;
  8. Malignant diseases (Malignant tumors, malignant blood diseases);
  9. HIV-infected persons;
  10. Persons with particularly severe and severe disabilities.
