The State President of Vietnam issued Decision 1548/QD-CTN dated December 21, 2022 on giving gifts to a number of people with meritorious services to the revolution on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit in 2023.

1. Level of gift value for people with meritorious services during the Lunar New Year 2023 in Vietnam

Accordingly, the level of gift giving to a number of subjects with meritorious services to the revolution on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit in 2023, specifically as follows:

* Gift with value of 600,000 VND:

- People with meritorious services to the revolution (1):

+ People who were active in the revolution before January 1, 1945, are enjoying a monthly preferential allowance.

+ People who were active in the revolution from January 1, 1945 to the date of the August insurrection, are enjoying a monthly preferential allowance.

+ Vietnamese heroic mother is enjoying monthly preferential allowance.

+ Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor during the resistance war are enjoying preferential monthly allowances.

+ Invalids and policy beneficiaries such as war invalids, class B invalids, and sick soldiers with an injury rate of 81% or more are enjoying preferential monthly allowances.

+ Resistance activists infected with toxic chemicals with an injury rate of 81% or more are enjoying a monthly preferential allowance.

+ People with meritorious services to the revolution are receiving a monthly maintenance allowance.

- The martyr's relatives are enjoying the monthly maintenance survivorship allowance; relatives of two or more martyrs who are enjoying a monthly survivor allowance (2).

* Gift with value of 300,000 VND:

- People with meritorious services to the revolution (3):

War invalids and policy beneficiaries such as war invalids, grade B invalids, and sick soldiers with a body injury rate of 80% or less are enjoying preferential monthly allowances. War invalids are enjoying the benefit for the loss of working capacity.

+ Resistance activists infected with toxic chemicals with an injury rate of 80% or less are enjoying a monthly preferential allowance.

+ Those who participate in revolutionary or resistance war activities, protect the fatherland, or fulfill international obligations while imprisoned or exiled by the enemy receive preferential monthly allowances.

+ People who have rendered valuable services to the revolution receive preferential monthly allowances.

- Representatives of martyrs' relatives (4).

- Martyr worshipers (in case the martyr has no relatives) (5).

2. Detailed instructions on gifts for people with meritorious services during the Lunar New Year 2023 in Vietnam

Detailed instructions for giving gifts to people with meritorious services on the occasion of the Lunar New Year in 2023 according to Official Dispatch 5374/LDTBXH-NCC dated December 27, 2022 are as follows:

* For subjects at (1), (2), (3):

Each person can only receive 1 gift from the President. In case a person is confirmed to be two or more objects eligible to enjoy both levels of gifts, he/she will receive 01 gift with the highest level.

* For subjects at (4):

- The representative of a martyr's relative is the only person eligible to receive a gift from the surviving martyrs' relatives. In case the representative of the martyr's relatives is also the subject (1), (2), or (3), then appoint the representative of the remaining relatives of the martyr to receive 01 gift for the representative of the martyr's relatives.

- If a martyr's relative has only one survivor who falls under (1), (2), or (3), that person will receive an additional gift as the martyr's relative's representative.

- In case the martyr's relatives have 2 or more people still alive who are subject to (1), (2), or (3), send one person to receive 01 gift as the representative of the martyr's relatives.

- For subject (5):

In case a martyr has no relatives left, the martyr worshiper shall receive gifts from the President. For each martyr, the martyr worshiper shall receive 01 gift.
