The Law on Commercial Arbitration 2010 of Vietnam was promulgated on June 17, 2010, of which one of the notable contents is the regulation on rights and obligations of arbitrators.
Specifically, according to Article 21 of the Law on Commercial Arbitration 2010 of Vietnam, arbitrators shall have the following rights and obligations:
One, to accept or refuse to settle disputes.
Two, to be independent in dispute settlement.
Three, to refuse to provide dispute-related information.
Four, to enjoy remuneration.
Five, to keep secret the circumstances of disputes they settle, unless they have to provide information to competent state agencies under law.
Six, to ensure impartial, fast and prompt settlement of disputes.
Seven, to adhere to the rules of professional ethics.
The Law on Commercial Arbitration 2010 of Vietnam takes effect from January 01, 2011.
