What is stopping and parking a vehicle under the law in Vietnam?

- Stopping a vehicle is the temporary immobilization of a vehicle for the time necessary to allow passengers to get on or off, load or unload goods, check the vehicle's technical conditions, or other activities. When stopping a vehicle, the engine should not be turned off, and the driver should not leave the driving position except to close/open doors, load/unload goods, check the vehicle's technical conditions, and must use the parking brake or other safety measures.

- Parking a vehicle means the vehicle is immobilized with no time limit. When parking, the driver may leave the vehicle only if the parking brake is engaged or other safety measures are taken. Vehicles parked on slopes must have their wheels steered toward the curb and chocked.
