On February 10, 2019, Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (BLDTBXH) regulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and veterinary medicine, will take effect.
Job positions for graduates of Silviculture (Level 5 of VQF)
According to the regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that students must achieve after graduating from the intermediate and college level in the Silviculture, issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, it is stipulated that the Silviculture at the college level includes the implementation of forestry technical tasks, meeting the requirements of level 5 in the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework.
A forestry professional has the ability to perform the following main tasks: nursery production; forest plantation design; planting, caring for, protecting, and developing forests; designing logging operations, organizing and implementing logging operations, and participating in agronomic extension programs and agroforestry production business.
Attention should be given to the minimum volume of knowledge which is 1800 hours (equivalent to 65 credits).
Simultaneously, after graduation, learners have the competence to meet the requirements in the job positions of the Silviculture, including:
- Nursery production;
- Forest plantation design;
- Forest planting and care;
- Forest management and protection;
- Forest development;
- Forest logging design;
- Forest logging;
- Agronomic and forestry extension collaborator;
- Agroforestry production and business.
Additionally, with the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that students must achieve after graduating from the Silviculture at the college level, they can continue to develop at higher levels. Graduates have the competence for self-learning, self-updating scientific and technological advancements within the scope of the sector to enhance their level or pursue further studies within the same sector, group of sectors, or the same field of training.
