Job Positions After Graduation with a College Degree in Construction Mechanics

The profession of Construction Mechanics primarily involves working in industries, machine manufacturing technology, equipment, steel structures, mechanical construction structures, and in some areas of the construction industry.

According to Circular 22/2019/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating that Construction Mechanics practitioners work independently or in groups. They participate in the production and assembly of products both in factories and on construction sites. In addition to erecting conventional steel structures, Construction Mechanics practitioners also manufacture heavy products such as: elevators, escalators, conveyors and components for the shipbuilding industry, buildings, and storage systems. Graduates of the Construction Mechanics technical college program must meet the level 5 requirements in the national qualification framework of Vietnam. The Circular identifies the job positions for the profession after graduation, including:

- Processing detailed components using hand tools;

- Processing mechanical details and components on universal machines;

- Processing details and components on CNC cutting machines;

- Fabricating parts from sheet metal and shaped steel;

- Fabricating mechanical structures from sheet metal and shaped steel;

- Erecting metal structures in construction;

- Quality control of products;

- Compiling project completion documents.

Additionally, the Circular also stipulates the learning and skill enhancement capacity for such occupations as follows:

- The minimum knowledge volume required regarding competencies that learners must achieve after graduating from the Construction Mechanics technical college program can be further developed at higher levels;

- After graduation, learners have the ability to self-study, and update scientific and technological advancements in their field to enhance their abilities or pursue higher education within the same profession, related fields, or aligned fields of study.

Thus, Construction Mechanics practitioners must possess good health, demonstrate good professional ethics, consistently practice meticulousness, clarity, and detail-orientation; foster a professional mindset and passion for the trade, and have sufficient professional knowledge and skills to meet job position requirements.
