Electricity Business Management at College Level is a field of study that trains learners in specialized knowledge and practical skills required for professions in the area of electricity supply. This includes principles of electricity pricing, financial management in the electricity business, providing available services to customers, and having the capability to work independently with professional ethics, a sense of discipline, industrial style, and ensuring good health for working. It meets the requirements of Level 5 in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

According to Circular 22/2019/TT-BLDTBXH, the main duties of the electrical business management sector include: managing and caring for customers; managing the electricity metering system; managing the power output and issuing electricity bills; managing the collection and monitoring of electricity bill debts; inspecting and supervising electricity trading. The Circular points out the job positions of the profession after graduating from college, including:

Additionally, the Circular also stipulates the learning and skill enhancement capabilities of the profession as follows:
- The minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from the college level electrical business management sector in order to continue to develop at higher levels;- Graduates have the ability for self-study and self-updating of scientific and technological advancements within the sector to enhance their level or transfer to higher education levels in the same profession or within the same group of professions or related fields.
Working conditions in the sector frequently involve exposure to electricity metering devices, which are electrical equipment, posing a risk of occupational safety issues (electric shock). The job requires compiling numerous reports for various customer types and different electricity prices, making it prone to errors and inaccuracies, and constantly interacting with customers. Therefore, professionals in this field must not only have solid professional knowledge and skills but also need to cultivate a cautious and precise working manner, excellent communication skills, professional presentation abilities, and ensure safety.
