Circular 04/2015/TT-BTP on guidance for notary practice apprenticeship issued by the Ministry of Justice on April 15, 2015.
Circular 04/2015/TT-BTP stipulates the suspension of notary practice apprenticeship as follows:
- In case of a legitimate reason, the apprentice is allowed to suspend the apprenticeship but must notify in writing to the notary practice organization where they are apprenticing at least 05 working days before the suspension date.- Individuals with a notary practice apprenticeship period of 12 months may suspend the apprenticeship up to two times, with each suspension not exceeding 06 months; individuals with a notary practice apprenticeship period of 06 months may suspend the apprenticeship once, not exceeding 06 months.- The suspension period is not counted towards the notary practice apprenticeship period.
The period before the suspension is counted towards the total notary practice apprenticeship period, except in cases where re-registration of the apprenticeship is required under Clause 3, Article 6 of this Circular.

Additionally, the Circular stipulates the refusal to guide apprentices as follows:
- Notaries may refuse to guide apprentices if they do not meet the conditions for guiding apprentices as stipulated in Clause 3, Article 11 of the Law on Notarization or for other legitimate reasons.
- Notaries who refuse to guide apprentices as stipulated in Clause 1 of this Article must notify in writing to the notary practice organization accepting the apprentices. The notary practice organization will assign another notary with sufficient conditions to guide the apprenticeship; if the notary practice organization does not have another notary with sufficient conditions to guide the apprenticeship, they must notify the Department of Justice in writing.
Within 07 working days from the date of receiving the notification from the notary practice organization, the Department of Justice is responsible for designating another notary practice organization to accept the apprenticeship and appointing a notary to guide the apprenticeship.
